Are you ready to make service sing? Don't miss out on this year's Spring Fling at Camp Wawbeek just outside of the Wisconsin Dells. We will be learning more about CKI, helping prepare Camp for the summer months, and having a lot of fun! See our event page for more details.
District Convention is right around the corner. Make sure to check out the updates on our event page!
Ruh-roh! This year, we will be attending the Milwaukee Bucks game in their brand new stadium! If you're an avid sports fan, archetictural engineer, or just want to get away for a day, join us for a night filled with fun! See the official Kiwanis Event for more details.
Hope you've had a great and relaxing summer. The school year is just starting up again, and although that means homework and late nights of studying, it also means MAC is just around the corner! MAC will be on October 12th and 13th this year -- the theme will be Scooby Doo. If I had any sense of originality, I would make this post a bit more mysterious -- but it doesn't take too much of a sleuth to know I'm not that fun :). Please have your registration forms postmarked no later than September 29th. See the MAC registration page for details.
Welcome to a new CKI year! We are currently working on updating this site, and hope to have several updates coming your way in the following weeks. We are still in need of a District Webmaster, so if you are interested in taking on this role please reach out to us! We're looking forwards to an exciting year of service!
Yours in service,
I hope that all of you that attended MAC this year enjoyed yourself, and those of you who weren't able to make it, please consider coming next year!
We were able to raise $571 for Camp Wawbeek, which is awesome! Additionally, we all had fun in our workshops, our divisional rallies and at the mascot auction!
Pictures of the event will be posted soon, and if you have any questions, please feel free to email Maren at firstname.lastname@example.org
Yours in Service,
Hey WUMderful Members!
If you got the chance to attend District Convention, you know how great district events can be ~ and we have another one coming up in the not so distant future. The next district event is called Spring Fling and will be held in the Wisconsin Dells at Camp Wawbeek. Our theme this year revolves around good old fashioned games.
At Spring Fling there are so many amazing things that will happen, with so many amazing people. On Friday night we will start with some small service projects during registration and arrival time, followed by friday night activities which will include minute to win it games. After these games we will be watching the movie Clue and finally finishing the night with our traditional Denny’s trip. On Saturday we will start the day with an Easter Seals presentation, followed by Service Projects around Camp. After Service projects we will start our workshop sessions including ...... After workshops we will be hosting a new event at Spring Fling, a Nature Walk. We will be taking a trip around camp to see all of the wonderful sights camp has to offer. Once this walk has finished we will be hosting our usual Divisional and Committee Meetings. The night will end with our time honored Mascot Auctions and Skits followed by the Bonfire and Ghosts in the Graveyard. Sunday will round out the weekend with our group hug and pictures.
Spring Fling will cost $20 and this includes your housing, food, and registration for the entire weekend. Spring Fling is highly recommended for all members, but for newly elected officers, there will be many valuable resources for you to start your term. If you are unable to come for the entire weekend, feel free to come for the day on Saturday to get the majority of the information for your club and office.
Yours in service, Maren Hjortnaes and Erin Idler
Happy December everyone! Where has the time gone?? With many of us gearing up for finals, break, and graduation, this is certainly an exciting time of the year. It's so easy to forget to continue your service when you're away from school and surrounded by family and friends. But there are very simple things that you can do anywhere, at any time. When you're driving and you see someone with their blinker on, just let them in! Smile at someone on the street or in the store - that could be all they need to make their day. Hold the door for a stranger. Help your mother with the dishes. Let your older relative sit on the couch or chair when you're together and you sit on the floor. Pick up the small piece of trash on the ground that you walk by. It really doesn't take much but it is the season of giving. And giving doesn't always have to be monetary. I challenge each of you to do something small every single day. Because if we all can do that, think about what each day would be like. Happy Holidays from your district board. Good luck with finals! Stay tuned for more updates.
