Happy December everyone! Where has the time gone?? With many of us gearing up for finals, break, and graduation, this is certainly an exciting time of the year. It's so easy to forget to continue your service when you're away from school and surrounded by family and friends. But there are very simple things that you can do anywhere, at any time. When you're driving and you see someone with their blinker on, just let them in! Smile at someone on the street or in the store - that could be all they need to make their day. Hold the door for a stranger. Help your mother with the dishes. Let your older relative sit on the couch or chair when you're together and you sit on the floor. Pick up the small piece of trash on the ground that you walk by. It really doesn't take much but it is the season of giving. And giving doesn't always have to be monetary. I challenge each of you to do something small every single day. Because if we all can do that, think about what each day would be like. Happy Holidays from your district board. Good luck with finals! Stay tuned for more updates.
The ACA Wisconsin Fall Educational Event was held at Camp Wawbeek this week where Ken Saville was given the Lifetime Achievement Award. Congratulations Ken on a well-deserved award for all of your amazing work you did during your 37 years with Easter Seals Wisconsin. We continue to thank Ken and all of our Kiwanis leaders.
Kiwanis just celebrated the big 1-0-0! 100 years of serving the children of the world and now we are so fortunate to have many branches that make up a wonderful family encompassing 600,000 members worldwide. Together, this family accomplishes many great things. Take time to celebrate with the K-Family clubs in your area this month. Here is a link presented to you by your 2015-2016 CKI Kiwanis Family Relations committee of an informational webinar to assist you all this month. They are also hosting a photo contest! To qualify for the contest, the member (that's you) must post in the "Kiwanis Family Month" event page with a photo of their K-Family interaction with a caption. You can post as many times as you want! At the end of the month, the committee will look at all the photos and award a prize for the best picture for each branch of the K-Family: K-Kids, Builders Club, Key Club, CKI, Kiwanis and Aktion Club. Six prizes will be awarded! Winners will receive CKI swag from the committee. Let's bring home a prize for WUM!

This year the game will be on Sunday, August 9 at 1:10pm. We will be watching the Brewers take on the St. Louis Cardinals at Miller Park. This date is a bobblehead giveaway game. No other than “Mr. Baseball” Bob Uecker will be the bobblehead distributed that day. The cost of the ticket is $25 per ticket, $4 of which goes to the Eliminate. Our goal is to sell 250 tickets, which will generate $1,000 for the Eliminate Project. If you have any questions, please contact the W-UM Circle K Kiwanis Family and Outreach Chair Kirstie Polzin at firstname.lastname@example.org. We look forward to seeing everyone on that day and go Brewers!
Want to learn how to "spice" up your meetings? Or if you're a general member, want to learn how you can help your club and district grow? Then come to MERP! We will be discussing different recruitment and retention methods to help your club be bigger and better. After all, our organization is nothing without the members. Please contact Membership Development & Growth Chair Elizabeth Le if you have questions!
We are very proud to share that our district received numerous international awards.
In addition, Elizabeth Le from the Circle K Club of UW-Stevens Point was this year’s recipient of the Harry S. Himmel Scholarship from the Kiwanis International Foundation. I would like to thank Kiwanis for continuously supporting Circle K. Whether it is donations or simply words of encouragement, your support has created strong leaders and made us one of the greatest Circle K International districts.
Great job everyone!
To help promote a strong push for Kiwanis Family Relations at the beginning of the Kiwanis year (April 1st), our Wisconsin-Upper Michigan Circle K District will be putting on five different Kiwanis One Day projects all over the district in each division! The locations include: Madison, Milwaukee, Green Bay, Eau Claire, and Marquette. Although we are still in the process of planning each event, we hope to have a HUGE representation of the local Kiwanis Family to each event. Stay tuned for more details!

Good evening Presidents,
The District will be celebrating our own version of International's CKI Service Week called "WUM Service Week." It will begin the Friday before the start of District Convention (February 20th) and last until the start of District Convention. The goal is to get SERVE anyway that you can. Across, down, diagonally, four corners, postage stamp, alphabet letter, blackout, or any other means are acceptable ways to get SERVE! When a task is completed, sign (preferably an advisor) and date. Finally, turn in your SERVE card at District Convention, and the card will count toward your club's chance of receiving the coveted Spirit Award.
If you have any questions, please email me.
Peace and sincerely,
WUM District Service Chair
